About
Abigail Silsby is an attorney with the School Law and Labor and Employment Groups at Drummond Woodsum where she works with schools, municipalities, and private entities. Growing up as the daughter of a Maine high school principal, Abigail saw first-hand both the rewards and difficulties of the state’s public school system. This upbringing motivated her to pursue a career in school law and has fostered a strong dedication to supporting Maine’s schools.
Abigail received a full-tuition merit scholarship to Northeastern University School of Law. While in law school, she served as the Managing Editor of the Northeastern University Law Review, worked as a student attorney at Northeastern University School of Law’s Domestic Violence Clinic, and completed a Federal judicial internship with Honorable Judge Judith Dein. In 2023, Abigail participated in the Seigenthaler-Sutherland National Moot Court Competition on behalf of Northeastern University School of Law where she earned a quarter-finalist placement.
Prior to law school, Abigail volunteered with the Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project, and while earning her law degree, she volunteered with the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association. Focusing on family law in both capacities, she assisted low-income clients navigate family and probate court.
Born and raised in Augusta, Maine, Abigail now resides in Portland, where she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, and dog. She loves to spend time outdoors and regularly camps, skis, and paddleboards.
