Drummond Woodsum Names Andrew Sweeney Co-Chair of the Firm’s Business Services Group

February 27, 2026

Drummond Woodsum is proud to announce the appointment of Andrew Sweeney as the new co-chair of the Firm’s Business Services Group. Andrew, who joins current co-chair Christopher Stevenson, brings more than a decade of experience advising clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including major debt financing transactions and mergers and acquisitions.

Andrew succeeds Michael High, who steps down after leading Drummond Woodsum’s Business Services Group for more than 25 years. Over the course of his long and decorated tenure, Michael helped establish Drummond Woodsum as Maine’s premier law firm for corporate and M&A work while earning numerous distinctions for his individual practice. Michael will continue serving his clients as a valuable member of Drummond Woodsum’s Business Services Group.

“We’re thankful for Michael’s many years of steady leadership,” said Managing Director David Kallin. “Though he’s incomparable, we’re confident that Andrew and Chris are more than ready to meet the moment and extend the group’s long track record of exceptional client service.”

Known for his steady, solutions-oriented approach, Andrew advises a diverse client base that includes public and private companies, lenders and borrowers, start-ups and investors. He also represents tribal governments and tribally-owned enterprises in high-stakes commercial transactions, particularly within the gaming industry.

Andrew has been named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers and “One to Watch” by Best Lawyers USA. Prior to his arrival at Drummond Woodsum in 2019, he practiced at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York and Goodwin Procter LLP in Boston. He holds a B.A. from Colgate University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
