Drummond Woodsum is pleased to announce that attorneys Jeana McCormick, Julia Pitney, Elizabeth Germani, and James Spizuoco recently co-authored two chapters in A Practical Guide to Superior Court Practice in ME.

Published by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, this is the premier guide for civil and criminal legal practitioners in the state of Maine. Chapter 1 Obtaining Pretrial Security in Civil Cases was co-written by Jeana and Julia and covers topics such as how to obtain a pre-trial order of attachment and/or attachment on trustee process, including doing so through ex parte attachment, as well as how to execute on an attachment order and how to modify and/or seek to dissolve such an order. Elizabeth and James co-wrote Chapter 2 Drafting Pleadings and Motions in Civil Cases covering topics such as drafting pleadings and motions in civil cases, including the substantive and procedural requirements for drafting complaints, answers, cross-claims and counterclaims, and motions such as motions to dismiss under Rule 12 and motions for summary judgment under Rule 56.   The chapter also includes a guide to resolving discovery disputes under Rule 26(g). The authors of the other chapters include Maine Judges and other, well-respected lawyers.
