About
Justin Cary represents private and public entities and Tribal Nations in all manner of employment and labor, technology regulation and management, and land conservation matters. He regularly guides companies through decisions involving Artificial Intelligence and other cutting-edge technology, specifically as it relates to employee regulatory compliance. He is passionate about building close relationships with clients to acutely understand their needs, deliver holistic solutions, and create pathways for a conflict-minimized future.
During his time at the University Maine School of Law, he received the Corporate Business Law Award, worked as an Arctic Fellow, and served on the Ocean and Coastal Law Journal and the Moot Court Board. Justin graduated with Honors and a Certificate with Distinction in Business and Transactional Law. While in law school, Justin was a Student Attorney with the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic and worked closely with the Refugee and Human Rights Clinic.
Before attending Maine Law, Justin did a year of service with AmeriCorps and worked for Habitat for Humanity, providing low-income housing to families in need. He received an undergraduate degree in Government with a Concentration in Economics from Colby College while working part-time on the Portland waterfront as a deckhand.
A native of Maine, Justin chases outdoor beauty in Maine’s oceans and mountains. In his free time, you will find him volunteering for WMPG, a community radio station, playing the alto saxophone, and teaching Mainers how to surf in the winter and take care of their beaches. He aspires to take on as much pro bono legal work as possible.
