Upcoming Environmental Review of Potential Offshore Wind Leasing Activities
The United States Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) issued its Final Wind Energy Area in the Gulf of Maine, establishing which offshore areas in the Gulf of Maine are open for commercial wind energy leasing and development. BOEM issued notice it will be preparing an Environmental Assessment for commercial lease issuance, site characterization activities, and site assessment activities in the Gulf of Maine, with comments due April 17th.
