Kyla Smet is an attorney with the Trial Services Group at Drummond Woodsum. A skilled litigator, Kyla’s attention to detail and research skills enable her to piece together the full story for her clients using interviews, depositions, and other litigation tools. She enjoys building lasting relationships with clients and helping them navigate the legal system.

Prior to Drummond Woodsum, Kyla was an Associate Attorney at Bernstein Shur Sawyer and Nelson, a Fellow for the Justice Andrew Mead Fellowship for Pro Bono Services, and a Student Attorney at the Maine Law Refugee and Human Rights Clinic. Kyla was also selected as a Charles A. Harvey Jr. Trial Practice Immersion Fellow, served as a Legal Extern for the Portland District Court, and received the Linda Smith Dyer Fellowship from The Maine Women’s Lobby.

Kyla received her Juris Doctor and graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law where she received the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Law Student Award. Outside the office, Kyla enjoys hiking, traveling, live music, and spending time with her husband, Trevor, their rescue dog, Daisy, and cat, Ellie.
