As a member of the firm’s Employment and Labor and School Law practice groups, Blake McCartney works with public and private employers, advising them on all aspects of employment law.  Blake is passionate about helping clients solve people-centered issues.  She brings an empathetic approach to her practice, allowing her to anticipate client needs and concerns and proactively address potential conflicts.

While in law school, Blake served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Maine Law Review.  She also worked as a student attorney at the University’s Refugee and Human Rights Clinic.  She completed a Federal judicial externship and served as a law Clerk for Chief Justice Valerie Stanfill of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.

Blake stays active in her free time; mountain biking, running, and skiing are just a few of her favorite activities. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends and exploring Portland’s trail system with her Portuguese Water Dog, Stevie.
