Legal Assistant
Manchester, New Hampshire

Drummond Woodsum is seeking a Legal Assistant to work in our Manchester, NH office. This position will primarily support the timekeepers from the firm’s immigration practice, as well as one from our municipal practice group. This position requires someone who is accurate, detail-oriented, takes initiative, and has a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and can adapt to specialized programs. The right candidate will possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills and will be a problem-solver.  Spanish-speaking is helpful, but not required.  This is a full-time position and working hours are 8:30 to 5:00 pm.

Position responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support, including copying and scanning, answering and directing phone calls, filing, and greeting clients
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and legal documents, including copying and scanning documents and applications
  • Prepare cover letters, fee agreements, and engagement letters
  • Review and proofread time entries and enter information for new matters and contacts into our time entry system
  • Administrative contact for the Manchester office, including supply inventory, ordering, and stocking
  • Process payments for hand deliveries or credit card payments for immigration matters and track client payments
  • Assist attorneys and staff members as needed (including document preparation, editing, proofreading, redacting, etc.)

 

Real Estate Paralegal
Portland, Maine

Drummond Woodsum is seeking a full-time Real Estate Paralegal. The ideal candidate will be experienced in all phases of real estate transactions including title examinations; preparation of title insurance commitments and policies; drafting deeds and other real estate documents. Other work will include assisting attorneys with real estate transactions including: drafting, organizing and preparing documents; coordinating loan closings; funding and disbursement; drafting settlement statements; assisting with closings; coordinating post-closing follow-up including recording documents, organizing and indexing files; and overseeing the preparation of closing document binders.

Skill requirements for this position are: understanding of real estate transactions; title examination, analysis and underwriting experience; advanced proficiency in Word and Excel; outstanding writing skills; first-rate customer service; attention to details; exceptional, yet flexible, organizational skills; personal motivation and ability to direct one’s own work.

 

Trust and Estate Planning Attorney
Portland, ME or Manchester, NH

Drummond Woodsum is looking for an experienced Trust and Estate Planning lawyer to join its practice. The candidate should have 7+ years of experience with a focus on estate planning, tax planning, and trusts and estates administration in Maine or New Hampshire.
