Maureen Sturtevant Selected for Fellowship in the Litigation Counsel of America
Drummond Woodsum is proud to announce that Maureen Sturtevant was selected for Fellowship in the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA). In a letter from the invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society, the LCA stated that Maureen’s professional excellence and integrity speak for themselves, and her commitment to diversity is central to their mission.
Membership in the LCA is limited to 3,500 Fellows, representing less than one-half of one percent of all American lawyers. The purpose of the organization is to recognize deserving, experienced, and highly qualified lawyers, to provide an outlet for scholarly authorship of legal articles on trial and litigation practice, to provide additional sources for professional development, to promote superior advocacy and ethical standards in the practice of law, to assist in community involvement by its membership, and to advance a superior judiciary, by taking relevant positions on issues or legislation affecting judicial compensation and/or benefits, as well as those affecting the American litigation processes. Maureen and other Fellows are selected and invited into Fellowship after being evaluated for effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation and trial work, along with ethical reputation.
Maureen focuses her litigation practice on the representation of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, as well as hospitals and private healthcare organizations, against professional malpractice claims. Using her experience and expertise gained in litigation, Maureen also provides counsel to healthcare organizations in a variety of health-law-related issues, including risk management, policy development, and contracting. The intersection of medicine and law can be complex and personal, but with her strategic, common-sense approach, clients can stay focused on the most important thing – providing care to their patients.
