John Kaminski Receives the Stephen Mooers Award from MaineHousing

Drummond Woodsum congratulates John Kaminski on his receipt of the Stephen Mooers Award from Maine State Housing Authority at its recent Affordable Housing Conference. This award was created in 2014 following Stephen’s passing.  It honors the person or organization that truly embodies the commitment, the passion, and the hard work it takes to develop affordable housing.

“It’s rare for any one person to have the kind of influence on affordable housing that John has,” said Dan Brennan, Director of MaineHousing. “He has helped bring to reality dozens of affordable housing projects, over 2000 units from Kittery to Fort Kent. John also helped to write and enact the state’s historic preservation tax credit which incorporated incentives for affordable housing, and the state’s new low income housing tax credit. This legislation has a once in a generation impact throughout the state of Maine.”

As the leader of Drummond Woodsum’s Affordable Housing group, John Kaminski’s practice is centered on business transactions and tax law with an emphasis on community and project development. He leverages a combination of tax and transactional expertise to help clients achieve their objectives in the development of affordable housing and other projects.

“This award is the capstone of a remarkable legal career committed to improving communities and the quality of life in Maine and New Hampshire,” commented Benjamin Marcus, Managing Director of Drummond Woodsum.  “We congratulate John on this well-deserved honor.”
