Jeana McCormick and James O’Shaughnessy Promoted to Practice Group Leadership
Drummond Woodsum is pleased to announce that Jeana McCormick has assumed the role of Practice Group Leader for the firm’s Trial Services Group and James O’Shaughnessy, of our New Hampshire office, has assumed the role of Co-Leader of the School Law Practice Group along with Peter Felmly as of January 1, 2022.

Jeana McCormick has extensive experience in civil litigation, representing clients in employment, education, civil rights, and complex commercial disputes. She has represented a wide range of clients including local and national businesses, schools, municipalities, and individuals. She approaches litigation thoughtfully and strategically, working closely with her clients from the inception of a dispute through a resolution to obtain the best possible outcome. Jeana advocates for and represents clients before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies, at both the trial and appellate levels. Outside of the courtroom, Jeana is frequently invited to present at conferences and trainings on emerging topics in employment and education law as well as civil liability. In recognition of her expertise and professionalism, Jeana has been selected as a “Rising Star” in Civil Litigation by New England Super Lawyers, and as a “Ones to Watch” by Best Lawyers in Labor and Employment Litigation.
James O’Shaughnessy focuses his practice on the representation of public school districts, school boards, and other educational institutions, including charter schools and private schools. Jim’s practice involves the full spectrum of school law matters, including board representation and governance, school district and SAU organization and budgets, cooperative and regional school district issues, school district annual meetings, policymaking, school safety, student discipline, Right to Know law, crisis management (assisting many districts in navigating COVID-19), rights of students and school employees, teacher evaluations, staff misconduct investigations, labor relations and collective bargaining, and compliance with myriad state and federal laws and regulations. Jim has been recognized by Best Lawyers in the area of Employment Law – Management and as a “Rising Star” in Super Lawyers in Education Law. Jim is also a 2019 graduate of Leadership New Hampshire.
