Exploring Indigenous Data Sovereignty and AI: Drummond Woodsum’s Attorneys to Present in National CLE Program
March 13, 2026
Four Drummond Woodsum attorneys will join forces next week to discuss the intersection between intellectual property and Tribal law in the age of artificial intelligence.
Titled “Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Intellectual Property: Tribal Law, Agreements, and Artist Perspectives,” the March 18th panel discussion will feature Drummond Woodsum attorneys Michael-Corey Hinton and Naomi Bebo of the Tribal Nations practice group, Elek Miller, who leads the firm’s emergent AI, Intellectual Property, and Data Security practices, and Ari Solotoff of the Entertainment, Media, and the Arts practice.
Drawing on both Tribal and artist perspectives, the panel will explore keys for protecting indigenous data through legal agreements, the importance of cultivating authentic relationships with artists, and strategies for ensuring equitable representation in commissioning and attribution in ways that move beyond the Western concept of a singular creator.
The “Lunch in Indian Country” webinar series is a recurring Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program co-sponsored by the State Bar of Arizona and the Tribal In-House Counsel Association (TICA).
