Drummond Woodsum Announces New Shareholders
Drummond Woodsum, one of northern New England’s premier law firms, is pleased to announce that it has promoted four of its associate attorneys to shareholders of the firm. Michael Buescher and Julia Pitney based in the Portland, Maine office, Anna Cole who practices at the firm’s Manchester, NH office and Demetrio Aspiras practicing in Portsmouth, NH are now among the owners of the firm.
Each year, the firm’s shareholders review the associate attorneys and invite those who have distinguished themselves through their legal accomplishments, community involvement, collegiality and teamwork to promote to shareholder status. “Their hard work, dedication to our clients, success as lawyers and commitment to the firm is humbling and an example to us all,” commented Benjamin Marcus, Managing Director.
Michael Buescher has been with the firm for 7 years represents public schools and private sector employers in Maine in all aspects of labor law, employment law and school law. Michael has frequently presented and published on topics of interest to public and private employers
Anna Cole joined the firm 3 years ago and represents towns, cities and school districts throughout New Hampshire on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship. Her practice includes counseling employers regarding their obligations to employees under state and federal laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; assisting clients with discipline and termination decisions; and assisting clients in developing effective personnel policies to support workplace cultures that respect employees and promote diversity.
Julia Pitney is a trial attorney who joined Drummond Woodsum 2 years ago Julia represents clients in a wide range of civil litigation matters in State and Federal Court including matters involving commercial, real estate, employment, and probate disputes. She also represents clients in bankruptcy cases, including debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, lessors and third parties acquiring troubled companies and/or their assets.
Demetrio Aspiras has been with the firm for 3 years. He has extensive litigation experience, which includes successfully trying cases to juries and judges in courts throughout New Hampshire. Before coming to Drummond Woodsum, he worked for five years as a staff attorney in the New Hampshire Public Defender’s Office, where he managed hundreds of criminal cases each year.
