Drummond Woodsum Announces New Shareholder Elections and Senior Consultant Appointment

Drummond Woodsum is pleased to announce the election of Laura Hartz, Connor Schratz, Rachel White Sears, James Spizuoco, and Kathleen Wade as new shareholders, along with the appointment of Darci Greenacre as a senior consultant, effective January 1, 2025.

These individuals have consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, client service, and a forward-thinking approach that has contributed to the firm’s success. Their new roles reflect the firm’s confidence in their ongoing contributions and potential for future achievements.

Darci Greenacre, a non-lawyer consultant in the Government Relations & Campaigns Practice Group, brings over a decade of experience at the highest levels of government and federal campaigns. A former senior staffer to U.S. Senator Susan Collins, Darci excels as a consensus builder and strategic advisor. She has provided counsel to a wide range of clients, including corporations, nonprofits, and advocacy organizations, on key issues such as energy, broadband, and healthcare.

Laura Hartz represents businesses, nonprofits, and individuals, focusing on real estate, land use, conservation, and energy and natural resources. She has successfully guided clients ranging from land trusts to developers. Laura was recently named a 2024 “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers and is highly regarded for her expertise in the energy, food, and agriculture sectors.

Connor Schratz advises public entities, including schools, municipalities, and tribal governments, on a range of legal issues, with a focus on employment law. He is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment practice group and has been recognized by Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch.” Connor also serves on Maine’s Right to Know Advisory Committee and has extensive pro bono experience.

Rachel White Sears specializes in special education and disability law, representing public school districts in matters related to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the ADA, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. A seasoned litigator, Rachel also works to resolve disputes through alternative methods, helping clients avoid litigation when possible.

James Spizuoco focuses on civil litigation, construction litigation insurance defense, and medical malpractice defense. A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Maine School of Law, James gained extensive experience through his work at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic and continues to serve clients in a wide range of civil matters. He represents health care systems, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals from the first notice of claim to trial. James also represents individual healthcare professionals before various licensing boards. In addition to his healthcare practice, James litigates insurance coverage issues and advises insurers on coverage matters.

Kathleen Wade advises municipalities, schools, tribes, and private employers on a broad array of employment law matters, including employee leave, compliance, and investigations. Known for her proactive approach, she stays ahead of legal and regulatory changes, providing counsel on discrimination, sexual harassment, and employee discipline. Kathleen is recognized as part of Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” and Super Lawyers’ “Rising Stars.”
