Attorney Jim O’Shaughnessy Graduates from Leadership New Hampshire

Leadership New Hampshire (LNH) celebrated the graduation of its 2019 class on May 23rd at LaBelle Winery in Amherst, NH.  Among the graduating class was Drummond Woodsum attorney James O’Shaughnessy. The cohort of 40 associates, the program’s largest to date, included men and women from across New Hampshire who participated in an intensive 10-month program. These individuals were selected through a highly competitive process and began their unique educational journey last fall. The event, which brought together over 100 leaders from across the state, recognized the work of these statewide leaders.

As an attorney at Drummond Woodsum James focuses his practice on the representation of public school districts and school boards, and other educational institutions, including charter schools and child care centers, in all aspects of school law, including employment and labor law, and special education.  He works closely with elected officials, school administrators and staff to advising them on often complex and sensitive legal issues.  James graduated from Hamilton College and in the top ten percent of his class from the University of New Hampshire School Of Law.

LNH, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2017, has nearly 1,000 alumni—individuals who are working to strengthen New Hampshire communities and increase civic engagement. Graduates hold leadership positions in the private, nonprofit, and governmental sectors across the state. Each year’s class of LNH associates attends 11 required and one optional seminar days held around the state. These provide an in-depth exploration of a topic of timely importance to New Hampshire, including demographic changes, the economy, criminal justice, environment, education, culture and arts, community leadership, government and politics, and health care.

Leadership New Hampshire is one of 14 initiatives proposed in the Governor’s Commission on New Hampshire in the 21st Century to identify emerging leaders for key roles in statewide issues and developing a network of informed leaders.
