Adam Cote Featured on E2Tech Panel Discussing Federal Policy Impacts on Maine’s Renewable Energy Future

Adam Cote, attorney at Drummond Woodsum, was a featured speaker on a recent panel as part of E2Tech’s special series, Environmental & Energy Updates. The event brought together leaders from across Maine’s energy and environmental sectors to discuss how shifting federal policies are creating uncertainty for renewable energy projects — especially those currently in development or on the drawing board.

Cote was joined by fellow panelists Matthew Gamache, Chief Operating Officer at Competitive Energy Services; Sean Murphy, Senior Project Manager at Flycatcher; and Marty Grohman, former E2Tech Executive Director and current Mayor of Biddeford. The discussion was moderated by Dale Knapp of Walden Renewables, an E2Tech board member.

Drawing on his experience advising clients in the renewable energy sector, Cote emphasized the need for a strategic reassessment of project risks, especially in light of disruptions to funding streams originally boosted by the Inflation Reduction Act. His insight provided valuable guidance on how stakeholders can adapt to an increasingly complex and uncertain energy policy environment.

Cote’s participation reflects his ongoing commitment to helping Maine’s clean energy sector navigate change, plan strategically, and continue driving progress toward the state’s climate and energy goals.
