About
Beth Coles is an associate in Drummond Woodsum’s Municipal Law Group, where she works with municipalities and nonprofits as they navigate legal, regulatory, and policy challenges. With a background in public service and a strong appreciation for the role municipalities play in building communities, Beth is committed to helping towns and cities explore new ideas and address complex challenges.
Known for her diligence, creativity, and collaborative nature, Beth brings a thoughtful, team-oriented approach to her work.
Before joining the firm, Beth built a career in public and nonprofit service. She served as the Director of Volunteer Services at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and previously worked in Washington, D.C., at the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), where she helped develop new AmeriCorps programs in partnership with federal agencies and the private sector.
Beth was the Economic Justice Fellow for her law school class. She interned with the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future, focusing on housing issues, and completed an externship with Match Group’s privacy team, where she later worked as a contractor. Beth also served as Managing Editor of the Maine Law Review and was active in student leadership through the Student Bar Association. She graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law.
Outside of work, Beth enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs. A fan of science fiction books and movies, she also loves swimming and diving at beaches and lakes, and treasure hunting at antique shops.
