About
Kelsey Cromie is an attorney with the School Law Practice Group at Drummond Woodsum. Prior to Drummond Woodsum, Kelsey worked in admissions for a small liberal arts college in Massachusetts. This work motivated her to attend law school in order to develop a deeper understanding of the laws governing college admissions, and eventually practice education law.
Kelsey graduated from Maine Law magna cum laude with pro bono recognition and received the Faculty Significant Achievement Award and the Edward S. Godfrey Leadership Award. She interned for the Maine Office of the Attorney General and was a Cushman D. Anthony Fellow at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, providing legal representation to youth involved in the juvenile justice system, parents in education matters, individuals in protection from abuse matters, and incarcerated individuals through the Youth Justice and Prisoner Assistance Clinics.
Kelsey also held a judicial externship with a federal appellate court. Prior to joining Drummond Woodsum, she was a judicial law clerk to Chief Justice Valerie Stanfill on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.
Kelsey was the Editor-in-Chief of Volume 75 of Maine Law Review, the Events Coordinator for the Maine Association for Public Interest Law (MAPIL), a Legal Writing Teaching Assistant, and the Admissions Fellow for her class at Maine Law.
She lives in Portland with her partner and enjoys reading, swimming, hiking, kayaking, and exploring Maine.
