Litigation Attorney – Probate/Real Estate

We seek an experienced real estate and probate litigator to join the Trial Services Group in our Portland, Maine office. If you bring at least 3-5 years of experience and a passion for these areas of law, we want to hear from you!

In this position, you’ll focus on real estate and probate litigation matters, offering you an opportunity to showcase your expertise with clients and in the courtroom. You will work closely with other litigators, as well as the firm’s real estate and probate subject matter experts, on cases ranging from boundary disputes, to quiet title actions, to guardianship and will contests.

Accounts Receivable Specialist

Accounts Receivable Specialist
Portland, Maine

Drummond Woodsum is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our firm’s finance team in Portland, Maine. In this role you will manage the firm’s accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with clients to optimize collections. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing inquiries and discrepancies
  • Apply client payments, process refunds, and manage account adjustments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in our accounting system
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Collaborate with billing team and attorneys to resolve billing issues and disputes
  • Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable status and performance to firm management
  • Assist with month-end closing processes and audits as required
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls related to the accounts receivable function

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with 1-3 years of experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
