Adam Cote Quoted in Bloomberg Regarding Maine’s U.S. Senate Race

Drummond Woodsum attorney Adam Cote spoke to Bloomberg last week about Democrat Graham Platner’s rapid rise from oysterman to Democratic primary frontrunner in a Senate race that could have major implications in Washington.
With longtime Republican Sen. Susan Collins viewed as vulnerable in the general election this November, the national media has fixed its attention on the increasingly heated primary fight between Platner, a political outsider with a populist streak, and sitting Gov. Janet Mills.
Cote — a policy advisor, Drummond Woodsum Strategic Consulting member, and former gubernatorial candidate — talked to Bloomberg about Plater’s “out of nowhere” ascent.
“I’ve never seen anything like it in a primary in Maine politics,” he said.
Despite weathering multiple controversies related to offensive social media posts from years ago and a now-covered tattoo resembling a Nazi symbol, Platner continues to pick up momentum ahead of the June 9 primary. He has outraised Mills and leads her in several polls.
