NNAHRA and Drummond Woodsum have joined forces to once again offer the Tribal Human Resources Professional (THRP) training virtually. This 6 session online course will provide HR Professionals in Indian Country with the practical knowledge and skills they need to handle the unique employment challenges facing tribal governments and their enterprises.

Participants will learn and apply employment laws, with a specific emphasis on protecting sovereignty. Topics will focus on issues HR Professionals grapple with every day, including discrimination, wage and hour issues, employee discipline, investigations, evaluations, leaves of absence, union activity, Indian Preference, and more. The course includes online interactive exercises to reinforce learning and help participants gain confidence in navigating complex employment issues. Participants who successfully complete the final exam receive the NNAHRA Tribal Human Resources Professional Certification. Join over 1,000 of your fellow HR Professionals who already hold the THRP certification, which is widely recognized as the essential HR credential in Indian Country.

This session will be brought to you virtually through Zoom.

Our engaging and interactive course material has been broken into 6 online sessions. Participants will virtually meet with presenters and each other to learn in a collaborative and casual atmosphere. Each participant is required to have their own tablet, PC, or laptop with an internet connection.  Given breakout session involvement, we discourage participants from gathering in a common space to view the course sessions together.  Participants will also need to be able to connect via video and audio.

In order to make this the best experience possible, attendance and participation will be very important. We are limiting the class size to 80 participants to ensure individual attention by instructors. Participants must be committed to completing all 6 sessions before taking the online certification exam. Course materials will be mailed to participants prior to the start of the course.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Cancellation Policy?

Payment
Payment is due in full 2 weeks prior to the start of the training. If payment is not received in full, your registration ticket will be forfeited (with notice) so that another individual may register for the training.

Cancellations
We understand that plans change. If you find you can no longer attend a program, please contact Adriana Grimes at agrimes@dwmlaw.com or 800.727.1941 Ext. 232.

Cancellations occurring 10 or more business days prior to the event will be eligible for a full refund, less a $50.00 processing fee.

Any cancellation received within 10 business days of the training will not be eligible for a refund; however, you will have a choice between the following options:

1 . Transferring your registration to a colleague; or

2. Transferring your registration to the next immediate THRP training on the calendar (registration availability permitting). Transferring your registration to future trainings beyond the next immediate scheduled, will not be permitted.

*Please note: If you effectively register for an event, and do not attend the event (no-show), you will still be required to pay the registration fee. No-shows do not exempt participants from payment, as registration secures a spot and commits the organizer to non-recoverable expenses on the participant’s behalf.

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule an event for any reason, including inclement weather. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, those who have registered for the event will be offered a choice between (a) a full refund, or (b) a credit for a future training.

If you have questions regarding this policy, please call Adriana Grimes at 800.727.1941 Ext. 232.

Is NNAHRA Membership included in the course?
